Quotation for Today: Creating Jobs the Republican Way

Via the quotation for today, we are introduced to the Republicans' job program; it will surely cause a drop in the nation's unemployment rate.

"Put it this way: Employment in oil and gas extraction has risen more than 50 percent since the middle of the last decade, but that amounts to only 70,000 jobs, around one-twentieth of 1 percent of total U.S. employment. So the idea that drill, baby, drill can cure our jobs deficit is basically a joke."
Paul Krugman
Paul Krugman, in his New York Times op-ed, writes about the Republicans' job program.

The Republican's job program  -- drill baby, drill -- will create jobs. The problem is that you will need a cryo-electron microscope to see the change in the unemployment rate, and the change in the unemployment rate will have to be measured using the Planck scale. If drilling doesn't create enough jobs, then the Republicans pipeline proposal might do the trick, but I doubt it.

One thing is for certain; the Republicans' job program will increase the number of lobbying jobs -- measurable in parsecs. Thus, the nation's structural unemployment rate for lobbyist will decline significantly.
