Quotation for Today: Indiana Republican/Tea Party Candidate Exhorts Civil War?

The quotation for today, across the jump, offers a clear illustration of the extreme political views of the Republican Party.
“I’ve said it many times. This is a historic time, and the most powerful people in both parties are so opposed to one another that one side simply has to win out over the other.”
Richard Earl Mourdock

Mr. Mourdock is the Indiana Republican/Tea Party candidate for the United States Senate.  Mr. Mourdock defeated incumbent Indiana Republican Senator, Richard Lugar.

Mr. Mourdock's comments were from The New York Times article that describes his primary victory over Senator Lugar.  In November, Mr. Mourdock's Democratic opponent will be Representative Joe Donnelly.
