Quotation for Today: Phobic Mania

Today, the quotation provides an interesting look at a peculiar dialogue where a Republican politician poses a question, then answers the posed question in his theocratic-educated, xenophobic voice.

“Where do you think this concept of equality comes from? It doesn’t come from Islam. It doesn’t come from the East and Eastern religions. It comes from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”
Rick Santorum
Rick Santorum is one of several Republican candidate vying to be the Republican Party's nominee for President of the United States.  According to The New York Times editorial (cited below), Mr. Santorum spoke the above words while campaigning in South Carolina.

The publicly exhibited phobias (e.g., theophobia [with regards to non-Christian religions], gynephobia, homophobia, pantophobia, etc.) of Mr. Santorum and his fellow GOP candidates raise the question of their qualification to be President of the United States. Perhaps these GOP candidates also suffer from sophophobia; but one thing seems certain, they do not suffer from phobophobia.
