Quotation for Today: U.S. Government for the One Percent, Bought and Paid For

With today's quotation, we continue to look at how the One Percent is fighting back against democracy and economic fairness in the most ferocious and undermining way imaginable; utilizing super PACs and 501(c)(4) non-profit groups to name a few known categories facilitated by the United States Supreme Court's decision in the case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.

“While we now know some names of some people giving megabucks, we know nothing about the funders of the nonprofits. We don’t know what we don’t know.”
Ellen S. Miller

Ellen S. Miller is the executive director of the Sunlight Foundation; a non-profit group that advocates for greater transparency in political giving.

In the articles highlighted in this post, you will be told about uber-wealthy people making million-dollar contributions to . What do these uber-wealthy people expect to get for their money?

Probably a 14 percent tax rate a la Mitt Romney and other largesse bestowed on them by a Republican-controlled Congress and Republican President of the United States.  I say Republican-controlled Congress and Republican POTUS because  --  as the articles detail  --  the bulk of the Citizens United-facilitated donations are going to organizations that support Republican candidates.
