Quotation for Today: U.S. Supreme Court Creates a Plutocracy

In today's quotation, across the jump, we are given another look at the impact of the United States Supreme Court's infamous, democratic-destroying decision in the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case.

"Never before in the history of American politics has a single couple given more money to a single candidate and had a bigger impact – all courtesy of the Supreme Court and its grotesque decisions that speech is money and corporations are people under the First Amendment."
Robert Reich
Robert Reich, former United States Secretary of Labor and currently the Chancellor's Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, discusses the plutocratic role being played by unlimited corporate and individual contributions of money during the 2012 presidential campaign.

The destructive role of money has also been highlighted by the Montana Supreme Court.
