Paul Krugman, in his column "Nobody Understands Debt," writes about how politicians are foolishly and ignorantly, willfully or not, focused on the "national debt crisis" when the true crisis is that of unnecessary high unemployment.  Professor Krugman's article is in easy to understand, kitchen table language.
