Quotation for Today: If Corporations Are People, Then Who or What Isn't?

"The reasoning of Citizens United applies with even greater force to noncitizens who lawfully reside in the United States."
Paul Sherman

Paul Sherman's comment is not only addressing the First Amendment issue that served as the foundation for the United States Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. F.E.C., but also applies to a new, similar-to-Citizens First Amendment case -- Bluman v. F.E.C. -- that is before the Supreme Court of the United States. Bluman is scheduled for a hearing before the Supreme Court justices on this Friday.

Mr. Sherman is a lawyer for the libertarian organization, Institute for Justice.

Could it be that the Roberts Court now finds itself in a "Pandora's Box" of its own creation?
