Is Brazil the "Sucuriju Gigante" of South America?

As Brazil grows in wealth it is beginning to flex its new found powers in old, imperial ways.


The Brazil government seems to have its own notion of a Doctrina del destino manifiesto as it projects hegemony over its South American neighbors.  Perhaps Brazil has become imbued with the spirit of sucuriju gigante and now wishes to "devour" all its neighbors.
