Quotation for Today: Poverty's Insidious Effect On Children's Health

“It comes as no surprise whatsoever that such enormous inequities would be present. It is grossly unjust and will have health and economic impacts on the state of California for generations to come."
Harold Goldstein, DrPH

Dr. Goldstein is the executive director of the California Center for Public Health Advocacy.  The "grossly unjust" issue on which Dr. Goldstein is commenting is the unequal funding of physical and health education in California's public schools.

Again, we have an illustration of the deleterious effects of poverty on the well-being of Americans; poverty that is the result of the extreme income and wealth inequality in the United States.

The California Center for Public Health Advocacy is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and one of its objectives is to raise awareness about critical public health issues.
