Quotation for Today: Hamlet on the Potomac

The quotation for today highlights the fact that our vacillating, Hamlet-like Speaker of the House, John Boehner, cannot decide whether to be for middle- and working-class Americans or against them (probably against them).

Jay Carney -- in discussing the current brouhaha over the payroll tax bill --   made the following observation about the vacillations of our contemporary Hamlet.
"So he was for it before he was against it."
Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary.
Nicholas, Peter. "White House pressures House GOP ahead of payroll tax votes."  Los Angeles Times 19 December, 2011: online edition.
