Is U.S. Trade Policy A Debacle?

Yes, and as the story on the other side of the break highlights, the U.S. trade debacle can negatively impact mature and budding industries, equally.



The trade policy of the United States is a debacle on a grand scale, and an example of that failure can be seen in the diminution of our manufacturing industry. As described in Manufacturing and Technology News, the latest casualty of U.S. trade policy is the solar industry.


In the Manufacturing and Technology News editorial, "Another U.S. Industry Turns To Trade Law As Its Last Resort And Faces The Wrath of Importers," we learn that Solar World  -- to protect itself against the illegal dumping of manufactured solar products by China -- had to pursue an anti-dumping trade case.  Also, the Manufacturing and Technology News story lists other U.S. industries that have taken legal action to combat illegal dumping by China
